Dr Chua Kian Jon is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. His research areas are primarily on both modelling and experimental aspects of building HVAC. These include dehumidification/dehydration, cooling, heat pumping, compact heat exchangers and refined temperature/humidity control. He has more than 200 international peer-reviewed journal publications, 6 book chapters, and two books on advances in air conditioning (https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9789811584763 and https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9783030808426). His works has garnered more than 10,500 over citations. Further, he owns more than 10 patents related to several innovative cooling and dehumidification systems. Based on a 2020 database compiled by Stanford University on Global Scientists in Energy Research, he was ranked 569 out of 186,014 global energy scientists, consolidating his research position to within the top 0.3% energy scientists). Additionally, he has been awarded multiple local, regional, and international awards for his breakthrough research endeavours.
